The City of Buffalo, in a partnership with M & T Bank, the University at Buffalo, and National Grid, will be offering free outdoor wifi along Main St., starting at the Medical Campus and extending to the Erie Basin Marina.  The project is being completely funded by M & T Bank and carries no expense to the city, and is expected to be completed by the summer.

Pioneers of the project anticipate that the network will not only be used by the 58,000 workers downtown, but also by visitors and residents of Buffalo’s growing downtown population.  There is also talk of the possibility of having a fully-fledged municipal wifi network in Buffalo and Erie County.
