New York Parks to Get $72 Million in Upgrades

Governor Cuomo announced yesterday that New York’s state parks would be receiving some $72 million worth of upgrades. ?Western New York will be on the receiving end of some $14 million in projects (see list below). ?The Governor has promised to invest nearly $1 billion into the nation’s oldest park service.

The NY Parks 2020 plan is meant to invest $900 million in public and private funds into the facilities by 2020. ?”The NY Parks 2020 projects announced today will not only help fix and restore aging park infrastructure but also enhance our environment, connect people to healthy, active outdoor recreation and energize local economies,” Parks commissioner Rose Harvey said in a statement.
